When a firm's client is acquiring a company, the target provides extensive documentation—financial records, contracts, intellectual property descriptions—through secure file sharing platforms. Attackers have exploited this process to compromise acquiring companies, knowing that the due diligence timeline creates pressure to quickly access and review documents.
